I went to Vanderbilt yesterday to see the only Fibromyalgia specialist int he state of TN and he told me that Tramadol has been proven to be an effective treatment for Fibro and is actually recomended. So I did a little research and here is what I found. Doctors who specialize in Fibromyalgia, advise the use of Ultram (Tramadol) to treat the pain associated with this fibromyalgia. Ultram is a mild non narcotic pain reliever. While it is a non narcotic, the brain responds the same way to Ultram as it would to a narcotic pain reliever. There are a number of positive benefits that have been verified by patients. You may benefit from better sleep, If you are not in pain, you sleep better. It also works on the brain to serve as a calming agent, you just "feel better". One of the active ingredients in Ultram acts as a mild antidepressant.
