Fibromyalgia is

a confusing word and an even more confusing illness. The name means muscle pain, but muscle pain is only the tip of the iceberg. If your like most of us, getting a diagnosis meant that while you where relieved to finally learn that something "real" is wrong, you still don't really know what that something is.

Welcome to myrealfibro.com, our new place for resources, information, spreading awareness, finding answers from people just like you, and a place to share your personal stories, trials, and experinces. I hope that this website will become a comfort to those who need it and a tool to spread awareness of Fibromyalgia.

A diagnosis of Fibromyalgia is a hard one to accept. Most patients have been through the wringer trying to find out what's wrong with them. It's not curable, it's not well understood, it never goes away, and their is currently no treatment that can help it completely. There is no mirical pill to fix it, and there are many in the world who do not believe it is even real. Not only do people diagnosed with Fibromyalgia have to give the life they had, battle chronic pain, and face a mountain of medical bills, they are living with an invisible illness that is vastly misunderstood. I hope that this site can not only give people a place to share tehir stories but also give them a way to show the world that this can happen to anyone and that it has devastating effects on the life of the fibromite and their family and friends. Doctors and Family like to tell them that they are lucky they don't have such and such, but their is nothing LUCKY about having Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia takes control of you and your life.

Knowledge is power so learn everything you can.  Supprt from loved ones gives you strength, don't be afraid to accept help.  Control is a state of mind, taking some amount of control over your life can make all the difference in how you feel about your situation.  I invite you all to share with us not just what you have been through but also what has made you feel better.
